studio Intern - fashion design

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Working in close supervision of supervising staff, brainstorm & draft fashion design solutions for clients and DIY projects.
  • Assist in site planning and programming activities, including developing project scope documents. - Research materials, construction details, and recommend appropriate design solutions.
  • Create mood-boards and trend reports, and seasonal color research.
  • Research, gather information, generate graphic media, and develop drafts to be used in blog and social media posts.
  • Actively participate in and be accountable for Do-It-Yourself projects.
  • Helping create patterns for fashion products, such as dresses, blouses, outerwear, etc.
  • Assist in other aspects of the Design Studio, such as partake in fashion shows, collaborations, pop ups and other community related events.
  • Travel to trade shows or client homes/businesses for project-related business.
  • Provide product information and specifications and procure materials from time-to-time.
  • Attend meetings and keep discussion notes.
  • Keep up-to-date, accurate record of dates & times worked.
  • Office and studio maintenance as required.  


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be based in Greater Sacramento Area - or able to commute
  • Pursuing or recently obtained a degree in fashion design.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have some general knowledge of CAD, Adobe Suite and Microsoft Office, or interest to learn.
  • Ability to perform consistent work on PC or Apple laptop - must provide own device.
  • Be able to work from home if necessary.
  • Days, time, and duration TBD.

STUDIO INTERN - Graphic DESIGN

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Helping create patterns for graphic products, such as poster, tech wall paper, interior wall paper, cards, posters, etc.
  • Assist in other aspects of the Design Studio, such as partake in collaborations, Pop-ups, and other community related events.
  • Travel to trade shows or client homes/businesses for project-related business.
  • Provide product information and specifications and procure materials from time-to-time.
  • Attend meetings and keep discussion notes.
  • Keep up-to-date, accurate record of dates & times worked.
  • Office and studio maintenance as required.

STUDIO assistant: 2- 4 hours per week

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Execute assistance functions to the studio staff and designers.

  • Maintain and manage studio equipment and inventory.

  • Maintain studio premises neat, clean and in an attractive manner.

  • Organize and maintain studio logs, records and statements.

  • Package orders and prepare for shipping. 

  • Provide product information and specifications and procure materials from time-to-time.
  • Attend meetings and keep discussion notes.
  • Keep up-to-date, accurate record of dates & times worked.
  • Office and studio maintenance as required.  

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be based in Greater Sacramento Area - or able to commute.
  • Pursuing or recently obtained a degree in design helpful, but not required.
  • Prior office experience would be nice, but not required.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have some general knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
  • Ability to perform consistent work on PC or Apple laptop - must provide own device.
  • Days, time, and duration TBD.
  • Above all, must have a good attitude and willing to take constructive criticism. 
  • $11-$14/hour, DOE.
